Why did we sponsor Anna?
Anna’s mother died during childbirth, and she had no brothers or sisters. There is no information available about her father. Her grandmother arranged for her to be admitted to an orphanage. Since 2016, she had no sponsors. She was in the sixth grade of primary school when Kids to School first met her. Because she was an orphan with no family able to pay her school fees, Kids to School sponsored her in 2017 and 2018. Thanks to this support, Anna was able to complete her primary education.
After completing her primary education, Anna progressed to a public secondary school. These have been free of charge since the introduction of Tanzania’s Fee-Free Education Policy in 2015. As a result, our sponsorship was no longer necessary.
Thanks to the support of Kids to School, Anna was able to continue her educational journey. Access to quality education is of fundamental importance in creating a better future.
