Faith’s dream was to study so she could provide change to her familiy and her life.

Why did we sponsor Faith?
Faith is the eldest of four children. Her father never provided an income for the family, and her mother did not have stable employment. As a result, there was often not enough money to cover basic necessities and school fees. Faith was able to start secondary school with support from the local community and later received assistance from COTRR, which enabled her to continue her education. Eventually, due to the difficult circumstances at home, her mother had to return to live with her own family. Fortunately, through COTRR, Faith was able to stay with a host family and complete her secondary education. She achieved excellent results, earning a B+ grade, and was subsequently admitted to the Bachelor’s degree programme in Pharmacology. COTRR was able to support Faith in starting her first year at university in September 2017, but its sponsorship program ends after secondary school. Although Faith’s mother was keen for her daughter to continue her studies, she simply did not have the financial means to make this possible. Nor could Faith rely on support from her maternal relatives, who regarded education as unnecessary and a waste of both time and money.
Kids to School recognized Faith’s talent, motivation, and determination and wanted to give her the opportunity to pursue higher education. The organization has been sponsoring her since July 2018. In late 2022, Faith graduated from Kabarak University as the top student in Pharmacology, a remarkable achievement that reflects her hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence.
As preparation for her professional life, Faith was able to begin a paid internship with the government after graduating. Her education has given her the opportunity to build an independent and better future for herself. She has also started building a proper house for her family.
After completing her paid internship with the government, she was unfortunately unable to find another job quickly in 2024. Even so, she was able to use the knowledge and skills she had gained to start a small business that enabled her to pay her bills. In addition, socially, the scholarship enabled her to interact with others and network, which has provided her with several learning opportunities and job referrals.

By completing my education, I am now able to provide for my family and pay the school fees for my three brothers and sisters. In addition, I am giving them the skills and guidance they need for a better future.
