Why did we sponsor Jacqueline?
Jacqueline’s family was poor. They grew some of their own food and depended on food provided by well-wishers. They were certainly not able to afford higher education for Jacqueline. However, vocational or professional training greatly increases a person’s chances of finding stable employment with an income that provides a decent living. Without such training, many people remain dependent on casual jobs with low and unreliable earnings. Higher education therefore offers a much better opportunity to build an independent and secure future. For this reason, Kids to School sponsored Jacqueline’s teacher training course.
Jacqueline quickly found a job at a primary school in Sultan Hamud after graduating in 2010. She is married and has three children. She is still working and is the main breadwinner for her parents and extended family.

Thanks to education, I am now able to support my family and parents. Kids to School not only gave me a future, but also protected me from a child marriage.
