As a teenager, Joyce loved going to school and dreamed of studying medicine and becoming a neurosurgeon. Although she eventually pursued higher education in a completely different field, she did achieve her goal of going to university. Joyce enjoys learning and believes that a good education is the key to building an independent and successful future.

Why did we sponsor Joyce?
Joyce’s mother tried to provide for her family of three children by working on a tea plantation. Her father no longer lived with the family and did not contribute to their livelihood. Thanks to fundraisers and wellwishers, Joyce was able to start secondary school. However, when these funds ran out in July 2015, she was at risk of having to drop out of school. Joyce was an excellent student, and because Kids to School places great importance on higher education for young people, the organization began sponsoring her secondary school education in September 2015.
At the end of 2018, Joyce successfully completed secondary school with good grades and was admitted to a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering. Because of her motivation and strong academic performance, Kids to School also decided to sponsor her university studies, giving her a better opportunity to build an independent and secure future. She started her degree program in May 2019 and finished her last exams at the end of 2023.
After graduating, Joyce has been looking for a permanent position in the engineering sector. In the meantime, she supports herself by working online as a freelance article writer while continuing her search for a stable technical job.
