Why did we sponsor Sindiyo?
She is one of 12 children in a polygamous Maasai family. Her father is addicted to alcohol, and her mother sells charcoal to earn a living. From 2002 to 2012, Sindiyo depended on financial support from the Maasai Girls Education Fund to pursue her education. Because of her good academic results and motivation Kids to School was willing to sponsor Sindiyo from 2012 to 2016, so that she could also complete a bachelor’s degree, enabling her to build a better future for herself and become financially independent.
In the final year of her studies, the Maasai Girls Education Fund once again provided sponsorship. In July 2017, Sindiyo successfully completed her degree.
