Why did we sponsor Stephanie?
She lives with her parents, a younger brother, and her mother’s niece and child in Huruma, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Nairobi that is just short of being a slum. Her father is a music teacher but is currently unemployed, while her mother depends on temporary jobs for income. Stephanie completed primary school in 2022 with good grades and subsequently attended a secondary school for one semester. There was no money available to continue her education. Because of her strong primary school results, Kids to School gave her the opportunity to pursue further education.
Due to circumstances, Stephanie stopped her education again in 2025. We are trying to re-establish contact with her and hope that she will be able to return to school.
