Why do we sponsor Josephine?
Josephine grew up in a poor family with nine children. The family lived together in a one-room house and lacked the financial means to provide education for their children. Thanks to support from the community, Josephine was able to attend primary school. She was a talented and highly motivated student who was eager to continue her education.
Fortunately, COTTR was willing to sponsor her secondary school education, enabling her to avoid becoming a victim of traditional practices within her family. Without this sponsorship and the opportunity to attend school, she would have been married off by her father at a very young age. Despite many challenges, she successfully completed her secondary education in 2021 with good results.
In recognition of her strong academic performance, Kids to School is pleased to support her further studies by sponsoring her continued education, giving her the opportunity to build her own future.
Josephine is a role model and source of inspiration within her community and has already encouraged many girls to pursue an education. As a teacher, her positive impact on her community is expected to grow even further.
She is expected to complete her teacher training in 2026 and hopes to begin a career in education, enabling her to build an independent and secure future for herself.
