Why do we sponsor Jotham?

Jotham is the eldest son in a family of six children. His parents do not earn enough to pay for their children’s education. Eventually, Jotham went to work for his uncle, who gave him the opportunity to attend secondary school, which he completed in 2021.

Jotham was eager to continue his studies, but after finishing secondary school he took on various casual jobs to help his mother support the family. As the eldest son, he feels a strong sense of responsibility toward his family. His dream has always been to become a nurse.

Determined to turn his dream of higher education into reality, Jotham enrolled in a Public Health degree program in 2024 after not being accepted into a nursing program. To do so, he had to take on significant debt, demonstrating his extraordinary determination and commitment to his future.

Kids to School is pleased to support Jotham in completing his dream education without the burden of financial stress, allowing him to focus fully on his studies. With the help of his uncle and the wider community, Jotham has since repaid his debts. In May 2025, he successfully transferred to a Nursing program and began receiving sponsorship from Kids to School.

Jotham expects that, after completing his training, he will be able to secure a stable job in nursing and begin building an independent future for himself. As the eldest son, he takes his responsibilities seriously and wants to be able to provide financial support to his mother in caring for the family.
