Why do we sponsor Leah?

During her primary school years, Leah lived with her grandmother. Both of her parents have passed away, and throughout her education she has depended on scholarships to stay in school.

Kids to School sponsored Leah’s boarding secondary education because of her outstanding academic performance and because the quality of education at the boarding school was significantly higher. After successfully completing her secondary education, she earned a highly competitive scholarship from Cornerstone Leadership Secondary School, which enabled her to continue her studies at A-Level. Unfortunately, that scholarship ended after she graduated.

Leah is a highly motivated student who is determined to continue her education. She believes that earning a university degree will not only improve her own future but will also enable her to make a lasting positive impact on her community. Kids to School is committed to providing young people with the education they need to build an independent future, and has therefore resumed sponsoring Leah’s studies from 2025 onwards.

Leah chose to study Social Work because it will provide her with the practical skills and knowledge needed to help address social challenges that affect the well-being of individuals and communities.

She expects to graduate in 2028.
