Why do we sponsor Nickson?

Nickson received sponsorship for both primary and secondary school because his single mother earned too little as a casual labourer to pay for the education of Nickson, his younger brother, and his two younger sisters. With the support of his primary school headteacher, he was able to complete his primary education. She recognized his abilities, believed in his potential, and encouraged him to work hard. She assured him that strong academic results would give him a good chance of obtaining a scholarship to attend the secondary school of his dreams. With her assistance in completing all the necessary applications, and thanks to his outstanding academic performance, he was awarded a full scholarship for his secondary education. He completed secondary school in 2019 with an A- grade. However, this sponsorship ended when he graduated. Based on his excellent final results, Nickson was admitted to his dream university and accepted into his preferred degree program, a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He received financial support for only one semester and began his studies in November 2020. During the same period, his mother became ill, and Nickson used the small amount of money he had saved for his second semester to pay for her medication and for his siblings’ school fees.

It is clear to Kids to School that Nickson possesses exceptional academic ability, a strong work ethic, and outstanding determination. He has demonstrated that he is fully committed to his education and deserves the opportunity to continue his studies. We are pleased to support him in completing his degree so that he can build an independent future and achieve his ambitions.

Nickson expects to complete his degree in 2027. He experienced a one-year delay in his studies due to an accident, but even during this difficult period he demonstrated remarkable determination and a strong willingness to work hard.

His dedication and achievements have also been recognized by others. In June 2026, he received an invitation to attend a scientific conference on oral healthcare in the United States. This was a valuable opportunity for him to expand his knowledge, learn about the latest developments in dentistry, and gain inspiration from leading experts in his profession.
