Why do we sponsor Sharon?
Sharon completed secondary school in 2016 with sponsorship from Equity Bank. She was a disciplined student with above-average academic results. Her father, a casual laborer, and her mother, who earns a small income from beadwork, could not afford the costs of higher education. In 2016, although admitted, she was not able to start college due to financial hardship.
Sharon is a single mother who was still living with her parents and is determined to pursue further education and build a better future for herself. Over the recent years, she has remained highly motivated to continue her studies and therefore submitted applications for admission year after year, hoping that one day she would find the financial support needed to return to school. The reason she never agreed to get married was that she never gave up hope of pursuing higher education. Her parents have always supported her dream to go to college.
Because of her motivation and good academic results Kids to School supports her since January 2024, enabling Sharon to access quality education and improve her opportunities for a brighter future.
Sharon expects to complete her studies in 2027 and secure a job, enabling her to build an independent future and provide for her child.
