Masento’s dream was to serve her community.

Why did we sponsor Masento?
Masento’s parents were unable to afford higher education for her after she completed secondary school. Her ambition was to study Social Work and Community Development so she could make a meaningful difference in her community.
Kids to School was pleased to give her the opportunity to pursue an education that could provide her with better prospects for the future. She received sponsorship from 2008 to 2011.
Masento found a job soon after graduating.
In addition, from 2012 to 2015, Masento volunteered with the Local Advisory Committee of Kids to School, where she mentored and supported students. This support was of tremendous value to our students at the time. It is wonderful that, after having been sponsored herself, Masento was able to give back in this way by contributing to the education of young people and to her community.
The quality of life of Masento and her family has improved significantly thanks to her job, a position she would never have been able to obtain without her education. Furthermore, she is now actively involved in raising awareness within her community about the importance of education. In this way, Kids to School’s sponsorship has not only improved Masento’s own life, but has also had a lasting impact on her community.
As a result, the benefits of Kids to School’s sponsorship continue to this day, even though we are no longer providing financial support.
Masento still plans to continue her education and pursue a master’s degree.
